Terms of Service

Last updated July 27, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Simistry's website and study tools (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Simistry is

Simistry is an independent study tool that provides interactive simulations, practice questions, a reference sheet, and related study features for AP Chemistry. Simistry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the College Board. AP® and Advanced Placement® are trademarks registered by the College Board, which is not involved in the production of, and does not endorse, this Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • The information you give us when you sign up (name, email) must be accurate.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Accounts are for individual, personal use — please don't share a single account across multiple people.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Simistry offers a free tier and paid Pro/Lifetime plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account's billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.

Refunds are handled under the specific terms described on our Lifetime guarantee page, which is the sole refund policy for Lifetime purchases beyond what's required by applicable law. Outside of that guarantee, payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute our simulations, practice questions, or explanations in bulk.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent access controls or paywalls on the Service.
  • Share your account credentials or resell access to the Service.
  • Use the Service to violate an academic-integrity or testing policy of any school, program, or exam.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair it.

5. Content and intellectual property

The simulations, questions, explanations, diagrams, and other original content on Simistry are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to access and use this content while your account is in good standing.

You retain ownership of the notes and other content you create on Simistry. By creating that content, you grant us a license to store, sync, and display it back to you as part of operating the Service. We don't claim ownership of your notes and won't share their contents with anyone else.

6. No guarantee of results

Study aid, not a promise
Simistry is a study aid intended to help you understand AP Chemistry content. It is not a guarantee that you will pass, or achieve any particular score on, the AP Chemistry exam or any other assessment. Chemistry content is provided for educational purposes and, as with any study resource, should be cross-checked against official College Board materials where accuracy is critical.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Simistry and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
